Senate Bill 6799, which passed the Senate and House of Representatives this session and is expected to be signed into law by Gov. Chris Gregoire, allows florists to continue to collect sales tax the way they do now, rather than change when the destination-based sales tax takes effect July 1, 2008. This is possible because the national Streamlined agreement was amended to allow individual member states to determine how florists will source their sales.
