OLYMPIA – April 11, 2014 – With state business tax filing deadlines coming up, the Washington State Department of Revenue (Revenue) wants Snohomish County businesses impacted by the SR 530 slide to know relief is available.

April 25 is the deadline for monthly-reporting businesses, and those that report quarterly must file by April 30.

Businesses can call Revenue and ask for a tax filing extension. If a business misses the deadline to pay, it can request a late payment penalty waiver. This is also true for taxes that were due in March. The slide happened three days prior to the March filing date.

Revenue’s customer service staff can be reached at 1-800-647-7706 during regular work week hours. Businesses can also request relief through their My Account feature in Revenue’s e-file service.

“Our community has a long recovery process ahead, and we will work with local businesses on any tax payments that are late due to the slide,” Revenue Director Carol K. Nelson said.

Revenue has been providing assistance to federal agencies that are on the ground and directly reaching out to the business community.

More information about Revenue’s resources for the community is posted at dor.wa.gov.
