What happens during an audit?
A:
The auditor will contact you to describe the records that will be reviewed and schedule a convenient time and place to meet. Your records are reviewed to verify proper tax reporting. This includes verifying that all available deductions and credits have been properly claimed.
You will also receive helpful instructions and information on how to fill out your returns in the future. The auditor and the Department are committed to working with you in a professional and cooperative manner.
