Property taxes can be paid in full each year by April 30th. For taxes due in excess of $50, taxpayers may choose to divide the amount into two payments. The first half taxes or first payment is due by April 30th, and the second half taxes are due by October 31st. If the due date falls on a Sunday or holiday, you may make your payment on the next business day.
Some homeowners choose to have their mortgage company make their property tax payments for them. Call your mortgage company to see if this applies to you.
Property taxes become due the year after the property is assessed. This is true for both real and personal property. For example, a 2003 property assessment will generate a 2004 property tax statement.
