Q:  What is not considered to be an intercounty or interstate utility company?

A:  Any utility company not included in the definitions of RCW 84.12.200 and that operates solely in one county does not report to the Department of Revenue. Instead, this type of company must annually report to the local county assessor in the county where they operate. Cable television companies and public water companies are examples of utility companies that report to the local assessor instead of the Department of Revenue.
