Q:  What type of timber is restricted?

A: 

Unprocessed logs (including hardwoods and western cedar) originating from public lands (federal, state, county, and city) are banned from being exported from the United States, except for the following:

                            

*                                      Alaska Yellow Cedar

*                                      Port Orford Cedar


Timber from private lands is also restricted if it is considered as substitution for purchased public timber.
