Q:  I found one of my businesses in the Business Records Database, but I cannot find the other one. Why not?

A:

The Department issues a UBI/tax registration number based on the legal owner of the business, sole proprietor, partners, or corporation name.

When the owner operates more than one business under that number, generally, only one business name is shown on our online database. The other business names and addresses are listed on the Department's in-house database. To find out more about the different business names or locations please contact us.
