To verify a resale certificate number, type the nine-digit UBI number into our Business Records Database. If the database finds a match and the account is open, the number is valid.
However, if a business is shown as "non-revenue," it is not registered with the Department and the UBI number can not be used for resale purposes.
Important note: Effective January 1, 2010, the resale certificate will be replaced with a reseller permit issued by the Department of Revenue. For more information, visit our Reseller Permit page.
