Q:  How does a farmer claim the exemption for replacement parts for farm machinery and equipment?
A: 

An eligible farmer must first apply to the Department of Revenue for an exemption certificate.  Once the Department issues the certificate, titled, “Exemption Certificate for Repair Parts and/or Services for Farm Machinery and Equipment,” the farmer must then give a copy of the certificate to the seller.
