Tax Rate Information
Effective January 1, 2010:
- Sales and use tax within all of Grays Harbor County will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001). The funds will be used for chemical dependency or mental health treatment services. The new rates will be 8.4%.
- Sales and use tax within all of Chelan County will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001). The new rate countywide will be 8.1%. The tax will be used for emergency communication systems and facilities.
- Sales and use tax within all of Douglas County will increase one-tenth of one percent (.001) countywide. The tax will be used for emergency communication systems and facilities.
- Sales and use tax within Island County will increase three-tenths of one percent (.003). The new rate will be 8.7%. The tax will be used for transportation purposes.
- Pierce County will create a Tourism Promotion Area for Tacoma ($1.50 per night of stay), Puyallup and Lakewood ($1.00 per night of stay), and Fife, Dupont, Sumner, Gig Harbor, and Unincorporated Pierce County ($.50 per night of stay).
- The following Revenue Development Area (RDA) location codes will no longer be used:
- RDA - Vancouver RDA (0665), Bothell/King (1766), Federal Way (1792), Puyallup RDA (2771), Mount Vernon (2967), Everett RDA (3165), Spokane Unincorporated RDA (3290), Liberty Lake RDA (3292), Spokane Unincorporated PTBA RDA (3293), Bellingham RDA (3781), and Yakima City RDA (3983)
- Motor Vehicle Excise Tax - Liberty Lake RDA (3294), Spokane Unincorporated PTBA RDA (3296), Spokane County RDA (3297), Bellingham RDA (3761), and Yakima RDA (3993)
- Lodging - Bothell/King RDA (5066), Federal Way RDA (5092), and Puyallup RDA (5171)
