Special Notice: The Citizen Commission for Performance Measurement of Tax Preferences was established by the 2006 Legislature (RCW 43.136). The seven-member Commission develops a schedule to review tax preferences, based on a ten year review schedule. The tax preference reviews are conducted by the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee (JLARC) staff with findings reported to the Commission by August 30th of each year. The Commission then reviews and comments on the JLARC report.

As a part of their process, the Commission holds periodic meetings to consider citizen and business input regarding tax preferences under review. The meeting to invite public testimony on the 2016 tax preference reviews is on September 9th.

For 2016 there are 22 reviews conducted by JLARC staff and 44 reviews based on information supplied by DOR.

If you wish to come and provide testimony, please review the Commission’s request that those providing testimony address four specific questions in their testimony.

The Commission has also requested that testimony be provided on four specific expedited preferences.
