Sales tax now applies to some services

Starting October 1: Some business services are now subject to retail sales tax, as required by state law, ESSB 5814. When you buy these services, vendors should add sales tax to your bill. Clarkston 125th city to join combined licensing service

OLYMPIA, Wash. – March. 19, 2020 – Clarkston in southeast Washington is the 125th city to join the Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Service (BLS).

BLS is a one-stop shop that helps businesses manage local licenses. It is especially helpful for businesses operating in various communities because it links the licensing process for dozens of regional cities.

The city of Yakima with its nearly 100,000 residents joins BLS next month.
