Department of Revenue temporarily closes public offices to limit the spread of novel coronavirus

OLYMPIA, Wash. – March 17, 2020 – The Department of Revenue will temporarily close its offices to the public starting March 18 to support the state’s efforts to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus. All of the in-person services provided at DOR offices are available online at dor.wa.gov.

“We are here to help Washington businesses navigate this unprecedented event,” Revenue’s Director Vikki Smith said. “However we also have an obligation to assist the state’s efforts to safeguard the wellbeing of the public and our employees by limiting personal interactions.”

Closing the offices to the public statewide will help minimize employees’ interactions with customers, increase social distancing, and limit the chances for transmission. Customers who need to conduct business with the Department can access services online and learn more about assistance available to businesses impacted by the coronavirus emergency.

Revenue’s call center staff are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. via live chat and phone.
