Northern neighbors Algona and Auburn also set to join
OLYMPIA, Wash. – Oct. 28, 2021 – The Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Service (BLS) today welcomes the city of Pacific as its newest local partner.
With a population of 7,000 and 600 registered businesses, Pacific straddles King and Pierce counties near State Route 167 in the Green River valley.
Pacific’s neighbor Algona will join BLS Nov. 4. Algona is home to 3,000 residents and a potato chip factory. Tim’s Cascade Snacks, famous for its crispy, thick chips fried in peanut oil, started operating in Algona in 1986.
Next year, the neighboring city of Auburn (population 80,000) joins BLS as the final Puget Sound mainland city partner. BLS connects nearly 50 King and Pierce County communities to the same streamlined service that links state and local licensing.
BLS will support more than 200 local partners by next summer. Since 1997, BLS has offered licensing administration support to cities and towns across The Evergreen State. Find the list of all local partners on the city license endorsements page.
