Sales tax now applies to some services

Starting October 1: Some business services are now subject to retail sales tax, as required by state law, ESSB 5814. When you buy these services, vendors should add sales tax to your bill. Revenue's Bellingham office reopens to public

OLYMPIA – Jan. 6, 2017 – The customer service counter that provides tax and licensing assistance to Whatcom and Skagit county businesses is reopening on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017.

Operations are back to normal for the Washington State Department of Revenue (Revenue) office in Bellingham, which had been closed to the public since Dec. 19 because of damage from a broken water pipe.

The office, located at 1904 Humboldt Street, Suite A in Bellingham, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
