Puyallup joins state business licensing service

OLYMPIA, WASH. – May 10, 2018 – Today, the Department of Revenue announced that Puyallup is the newest partner in the state business licensing service (BLS).

Puyallup is home to about 3,000 local businesses and is one of 14 Pierce County communities to join the one-stop-shop licensing service. BLS partner communities support local businesses by simplifying license applications, renewals, and payments.

Businesses can now apply for state and city-issued registrations online with one annual transaction. BLS is a clearinghouse offering more than 400 licenses, such as beer/wine sales and industrial insurance.

Revenue manages one of the few systems nationwide allowing businesses to simultaneously register with state agencies and cities in a single transaction. Neighboring cities Lakewood and Orting will join in the coming months.
