Brier joins Snohomish, King counties’ neighbors in licensing partnership

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Dec. 15, 2020 – Brier is the newest city to connect to the state Department of Revenue’s licensing partnership. The Business Licensing Service (BLS) serves more than 150 municipalities across Washington, connecting local licensing with the state tax portal.

Brier joins the ranks of nearly 20 Snohomish County BLS partners, including Lakewood, Mountlake Terrace, and Mill Creek. Bothell is slated as a future partner.

BLS is Revenue’s one-stop licensing solution offered as a free service to cities. More than 90 percent of license applications and renewals are handled in secure online transactions. BLS transfers funds to city partners securely with support from the Office of the State Treasurer.

The service connects local licensing with than 600 different state licenses and registrations, reducing the steps for businesses to comply with agency and city requirements. A list of BLS partner cities is listed on the city license endorsements page.
