Business blooms with La Conner’s licensing partnership

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Feb. 24, 2022 – The Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Service (BLS) today welcomes the town of La Conner to its licensing partnership.

La Conner joins Mount Vernon, Burlington, and Anacortes as BLS partners in Skagit County, which is famous for its acres of tulip fields that burst with color each spring.

La Conner, first settled in the 1860s, is home to 1,000 residents and is a bustling tourist town. The annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival draws thousands of tourists each year, and local celebrations have attracted a vibrant arts community to the town along the Swinomish Channel.

Across Skagit Bay on Whidbey Island, Langley and Oak Harbor also will join the licensing partnership this spring.

BLS is a free benefit to streamline municipal licensing. More than 190 Washington communities support local business by syncing and simplifying local and state registrations through the BLS. Find the list of all local partners on the city license endorsements page.

The Department of Revenue is Washington state’s primary tax agency, nationally recognized as a trusted leader in tax administration and customer service. Revenue administers nearly 60 categories of taxes that help fund vital public services. It also oversees programs that return money to the public, including the Working Families Tax Credit and Unclaimed Property.
