Sales tax now applies to some services

Starting October 1: Some business services are now subject to retail sales tax, as required by state law, ESSB 5814. When you buy these services, vendors should add sales tax to your bill. Asotin County adds Revenue’s combined licensing solution

OLYMPIA, Wash., June 13, 2023 – The Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing Service (BLS) today adds Asotin County in southeast Washington as its newest licensing partner. 

BLS is the state’s one-stop solution that connects licensing for more than 200 local governments with more than 900 state registrations managed by various state agencies.

Asotin County joins the statewide system familiar to regional businesses. The combined licensing application and renewal processes are connected to the same secure online portal used for state tax reporting.
