The city of Auburn requires a license for all businesses located within city limits, or conducting business within city limits. If you are not sure if you will do business within the city limits, contact the city directly before you apply.
Commercial Rental Business - An owner or landlord who rent or lease office space or other business property for business activities other than housing, are required to apply for an Auburn General Business endorsement. Report the number of tenant units, including those that are vacant for this business and the square feet of space.

The business will apply for a General Business license; the city will review the application to determine if your location qualifies for Fee-exempt license.
