Messages and letters
Messages
- Send a message

- On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
- Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log in to My DOR. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the My DOR Services page, click the Send a secure message link in the Other services section. If you see the Select Message Type page, continue to step 7. Otherwise, continue to step 4.
- On the Who is this message concerning? page, select a business or individual, or select This message doesn’t concern a specific individual or business.
- If you selected a business or individual, you can select a corresponding account the message is concerning. If the message doesn’t apply to a specific account, click the This message doesn’t concern a specific account link and continue to step 7.
- If you selected an account, you can select a period the message is concerning. If the message doesn’t apply to a specific period, click the This message doesn’t concern a specific period link.
- Select a Message Type from the list.
- Complete the Subject line.
- Complete the Message field with your message.
- Click Add Attachment in the Attachments section if you wish to add an attachment to your message.
- Click Send.
- View and reply to a message

- On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
- Enter your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log in to My DOR. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
- On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
- Click the View Messages link in the Your Account section.
- From the Inbox tab, click the Subject link to view the message.
- Click Reply.
- Complete the Message field.
- If applicable, click Add in the Attachments section, to attach a file to the message.
- Click Send.
- Send a message with an attachment

- On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
- Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log in to My DOR. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
- On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
- Click the Send a Message link in the Your Account section.
- Select the account the message is concerning by clicking the Account link. If the message does not concern a specific account, click the This message doesn’t concern a specific account link, then skip to step 8.
- If you selected an account, you will select a period the message is concerning. If the message doesn’t apply to a specific period, click the This message doesn’t concern a specific period link.
- Select a Message Type link from the list.
- Complete the Subject and Message fields.
- In the Attachments section, click Add Attachment. The Select a File to Attach window opens.
- Enter in the Description of the file.
- Click Choose File and select your file.
- Click OK.
- The attached file is displayed in the Attachments section.
- Click Send.
- Archive messages

If you do not want to keep read messages in your Inbox or Sent tab, you can archive them. If you archive a message, you can still move it back to your Inbox or Sent tab by clicking on the Restore link on the Archive tab.
- On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
- Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log in to My DOR. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
- On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
- Click the View Messages link in the Your Account section.
- Click the Archive link next to a message. The message will now move to the Archived tab and no longer displays in your Inbox. There is also an Archive link available on the Sent tab.
Letters
- View a letter

- On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
- Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log in to My DOR. If asked, complete the Multi-Factor Authentication challenge to verify your identity.
- On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
- On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
- Click the View Letters link in the Your Account section.
- Click the name of the letter to view it.
- Click the Print Letter link to open a PDF version.
- If you want to save or print the letter, use your browser menu.
- Archive a letter

If you do not want to keep read letters in your Inbox, you can archive them. If you archive a letter, you can still move it back to your Inbox by clicking on the Restore link on the Archive tab.

- On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
- On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
- Click the View Letters link in the Your Account section.
- Click the Archive link next to a letter. The letter will now move to the Archived tab and no longer displays in your Inbox.
