Messages and letters

Messages

Send a message
  1. On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
  2. Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log In.
  3. On the My DOR Services page, click the Send a secure message link in the Other services section.
  4. On the Who is this message concerning? page, select a business, or select This message doesn’t concern a specific individual or business.
  5. If you selected a business, you can select a corresponding account the message is concerning. If the message doesn’t apply to a specific account, click the This message doesn’t concern a specific account link and continue to step 7.
  6. If you selected an account, you can select a period the message is concerning. If the message doesn’t apply to a specific period, click the This message doesn’t concern a specific period link.
  7. Select a Message Type from the list.  
  8. Complete the Subject line.
  9. Complete the Message field with your message.
  10. Click Add in the Attachments section if you wish to add an attachment to your message.
  11. Click Submit.
View and reply to a message
  1. On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
  2. Enter your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log In.
  3. On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
  4. On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
  5. Click the View Messages link in the Messages and Letters section.
  6. From the Inbox tab, click the Subject link to view the message.
  7. Click Reply.
  8. Complete the Message field.
  9. If applicable, click Add in the Attachments section, to attach a file to the message.
  10. Click Submit.
  11. On the Confirmation page, click OK.
Send a message with an attachment
  1. On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
  2. Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log In.
  3. On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
  4. On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
  5. Click the Send a Message link in the Messages and Letters section.
  6. Select the account the message is concerning by clicking the Account link. If the message does not concern a specific account, click the This message doesn’t concern a specific account link, then skip to step 8.
  7. If you selected an account, you will select a period the message is concerning. If the message doesn’t apply to a specific period, click the This message doesn’t concern a specific period link.
  8. Select a Message Type link from the list.
  9. Complete the Subject and Message fields.
  10. In the Attachments section, click Add. The Select a File to Attach window opens.
  11. Enter in the Description of the file.
  12. Click Choose File and select your file.
  13. Click OK.
  14. The attached file is displayed in the Attachments section.
  15. Click Submit.
  16. On the confirmation page, click OK. 
Archive messages

If you do not want to keep read messages in your Inbox or Sent tab, you can archive them. If you archive a message, you can still move it back to your Inbox or Sent tab by clicking on the Restore link on the Archive tab.

  1. On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
  2. Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log In.
  3. On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
  4. On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
  5. Click the View Messages link in the Messages and Letters section.
  6. Click the Archive link next to a message. The message will now move to the Archived tab and no longer displays in your Inbox. There is also an Archive link available on the Sent tab.

Letters

View a letter
  1. On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
  2. Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log In.
  3. On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
  4. On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
  5. Click the View Letter link in the Messages and Letters section.
  6. Click the name of the letter to open a PDF version.
  7. If you want to save or print the letter, use your browser menu. 
Archive a letter

If you do not want to keep read letters in your Inbox, you can archive them. If you archive a letter, you can still move it back to your Inbox by clicking on the Restore link on the Archive tab.

  1. On dor.wa.gov click the Log in button.
  2. Log in by entering your SAW User ID and Password, then click Log In.
  3. On the My DOR Services page, click Get Started.
  4. On the account Summary page, click the More Options tab.
  5. Click the View Letter link in the Messages and Letters section.
  6. Click the Archive link next to a letter. The letter will now move to the Archived tab and no longer displays in your Inbox.
